HERE'S WHO'S RUNNING THE SESSIONS

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils have worked with some great individuals, businesses and organisations doing amazing work here in Suffolk and beyond. The sessions are about giving you ideas, choices, knowledge, and power to make connections, change perceptions and get to know some of the exciting careers available to you.

Here's what Careeriosity Festival is all about...

What is the Careeriosity Festival?

It’s five days of demonstrations, talks, activities and walks with a bunch of individuals, businesses and organisations doing amazing work here in Suffolk and beyond. It’s about giving you ideas, choices, knowledge, and power to make connections, change perceptions and get to know some of the exciting careers available to you.

Who’s it for?

It’s for young people aged 10-19 years who want to learn about different sectors and what jobs are available to them. Parents and carers are welcome too of course, there’s so much to learn and find out about, the more the merrier!

Why should I attend?

To meet and learn from a huge bank of talent, creativity and skill. Every session leader has been chosen for their wealth of knowledge ready to pass over to you by the end of the session.

Are the sessions recorded?

Some sessions will be recorded and made available online after the event via this website. We will make sure all participants are aware if the session is being recorded and if they’d like to get involved on the day. You’ll be able to opt out if you don’t want your photo taken or to be filmed.

What’s the cost?

All events are free. Thanks to the support of Mid Suffolk and Babergh District Council and all the partners involved in putting on the sessions.

How do I book?

You can book a session by clicking the button below the session you're interested in. It'll then take you to Eventbrite to complete your booking! Any parent or legal guardian must register anyone under the age of 16 on their behalf to book onto a session.

What’s the Safeguarding procedure?

All sessions will have a DBS checked Event Lead. This individual will have an up-to-date check in place and be fully Safeguarding trained.

Each venue will have a Safeguarding policy in place. Any parent or legal guardian must register anyone under the age of 16 on their behalf to book onto a session. Parents / guardians are also responsible for the drop off and collection of the young people.

What are your Covid-19 procedures?

The events will be run in accordance with current Covid-19 guidelines. Signage will be in place to provide necessary information on the day. We ask that you do not attend if you or someone in your household have tested positive or are symptomatic.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself, a drink and maybe a snack or lunch depending on what session you’re attending – check your specific event details. Your phone and something to write on might be useful.

Who is organising the event?

Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are organising these events with support from a range of partners. Funded through the government’s Welcome Back Fund, to help support young people within our districts to explore careers within Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM)
